Stuart Holdsworth - Thought Leader Stuart is a global financial services industry thought leader with over 20 years experience in the development, application and sales of technology solutions that provide competitive advantages. He is perhaps to the financial services industry what Steve Jobs of Apple Computer is to the personal computing industry. He helps organisations with helping make sense of the rapid technological and marketplace trends in order to sustain relevance, position, profit and competitive advantage. Prior to forming Financial Simplicity, Stuart has undertaken roles at Price Waterhouse Management Consultants, Reuters, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Avanteos and Open Market with experience spanning Europe, Asia, Australia and the USA. Stuart is passionate about bringing better and more efficient ways to do things in the financial services industry for mutual stakeholder benefit and balance. Stuart has pioneered a number of areas of the industry to date including global credit and market risk management methods, pioneering the Internet for commercial activities (way back in 1998) and the invention of an entirely exception-less mass tailored portfolio modelling and operations process (which is embedded in Financial Simplicity). His uniqueness comes from a rare combination of high level strategic thinking combined with very detailed knowledge of technology and the operations of end to end supply chain of the financial services industry. Stuart amongst other concepts has pioneered the concept of Managed Investments 2.0, a blueprint for the next generation of investments supply chain adapted to an Internet era. Stuart regularly speaks, writes and provides services to industry organisations to help them grapple with the impacts of ever changing technologies, industry trends, and consumer demands on their business models, ultimately helping them determine, verify or formulate strategic direction for their businesses. Stuart is also appointed to the Board of the Australian Institute of Managed Account Providers (iMAP), the peak industry body for providers of managed accounts in Australia. Stuart's other interests include his family, surfing, ocean yacht racing, sailing, swimming, and technology. Stuart has navigated ocean racing yachts, including the maxi yacht 'Brindabella', and competes regularly on the Australian offshore yacht racing scene including the Sydney to Hobart yacht race. Mark Papendieck Mark has been working in the retail financial services industry since 1989. Having held a number of roles with financial planning businesses, funds management companies and platform providers Mark's expertise is in manufacturing and distributing products to intermediaries. Most recently Mark has been the Chief Operating Officer of Australian Skandia, Chief Executive Officer of Avanteos Pty Ltd, Chief operating Officer for Garrisons Financial Planning, and Head of Platforms for Perpetual Trustees in Australia. Jason Entwistle Jason has extensive experience in the establishment, development and commercialisation of investment platform businesses in Australia. Jason was a founder of the team that formed Navigator (now operated by Aviva), and subsequently formed Avanteos which after 13 years was purchased by Commonwealth Bank of Australia in 2003. Stephen Jones Stephen qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1979. He initially worked and was trained by various Accountancy firms both large and small in Australia and London. He established his own Accountancy/Financial Planning business in 1987. This has grown rapidly and now services a large number of clients in many different industries. Stephen has extensive experience with all facets of accounting, auditing, taxation, legal and Investment matters. His qualifications include Bachelor of Economics, Chartered Accountant, Registered Company Auditor, Tax Agent, Proper Authority holder, Justice of the Peace. Gerry Hatton Gerry has substantial business experience in Australian and overseas. Gerry started and built Colby Handling Systems to a business with substantial domestic and international presence and a staff of over 300 (more than 80 in IT). Since Gerry sold this business, he has invested in, and has been involved in, a number of technology based start up companies, usually as Chairman of the board. Nick Garland Nick has substantial experience in developing and applying leading edge development financial services technology solutions. Previous experience includes the use of pattern recognition techniques to identify broking opportunities in illiquid interest rate markets and the development of a credit risk free payment solution. |
